The Queen has many titles and her full name is Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor.

But Prince William, 38, used to refer to his grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, as “Gary”.

The interesting moniker was revealed when a young Prince William fell over at Buckingham Palace and was heard bawling “Gary, Gary!”

A guest quickly rushed to help young William and asked who he meant by “Gary”, according to the Daily Mail.

The Queen scooped her grandson up and revealed that she was in fact “Gary” after William had not learned to say “Granny” yet.

Meanwhile the Queen has other affectionate nicknames and was referred to as Lilibet as a child.

Her husband the Duke of Edinburgh is said to use the sweet pet names of “cabbage” and “sausage”.

In an ITV interview in 2016 the Duchess of Cambridge revealed that a two-year-old Prince George had started using a sweet nickname for his great-grandmother.

Kate revealed that George referred to Her Majesty as “Gan-Gan” and it is believed Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have followed suit.

In the UK the full title for the Queen is Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and of her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith.
