Supermarkets have faced changes to their opening hours, implemented rules for shoppers and introduced specialist hours for NHS staff amid the coronavirus outbreak. Now the bank holiday has arrived, bringing yet more changes and store closures.

Is Morrisons delivering food over the Easter weekend?

Morrisons online delivery slots sell out weeks in advance at the moment, so you won’t be able to order in any extra goodies for Easter weekend if you don’t already have a slot.

In fact, the  supermarket has employed a queuing system to gain access to the website, so it will take you a while to get in to the site.

When you get to the virtual queue, you will find out whether or not there are any delivery slots available.

The message reads: “You are currently placed in a queue

“We apologise for the wait. We are working hard to facilitate the demand and you may have to wait longer than usual to access the website.

“Please note, delivery slots are limited.

“If you want to edit an order already placed which has a delivery date outside 72 hours, please wait.

The aim is to try and help these people secure a slot.

Alternatively, you could order a Morrisons Food Box.

If you can’t get out to the shops or manage to secure a delivery slot, you might be able to order a box of essentials from the chain.

The website says:”Our new Food Boxes are designed to provide you with everyday essentials, without needing to leave your home.

“With a choice of groceries or prepared meals, we offer convenient delivery directly to your door.

“Choose from a range of boxes including meat or vegetarian groceries together with household essentials, or opt for a Market Kitchen box – a collection of hand-finished prepared meals. Simply choose a box that best suits you.
