Mercury has entered retrograde motion for the second time this year and things might seem confusing – rightfully so. Your social media feed may have been bombarded with warnings about tension, confusion and relationship trouble in the days to come. There is a lot of panic during Mercury Retrograde and many people wonder just how bad it is going to get.
Mercury is the Planet of Communication and this crucial skill is said to take a hit during retrograde.
Your communication skills, of course, will impact the quality of your relationship and work life so that is something you want to pay attention to.
Travel plans, delays and even technological problems are also said to pile up during this daunting time.
Express.co.uk is here to separate the wheat from the chaff and explain everything you need to know about Mercury Retrograde.
Mercury Retrograde meaning:
Due to an optical illusion caused by Mercury’s shorter orbit, the planet appears to have shifted into reverse gear.
Our home planet completes a lap around the Sun every 365 days and a bit, which to us equals one year.
Mercury sits much closer to the Sun and consequently completes a lap around the star every 88 days.
A couple of times during the year, as the Earth catches up, the relative position of our planet appears to give Mercury backward motion.
This, of course, is not the case but the optical illusion makes it seem so.
