Future editions of Matthew Perry’s memoir will not include his dig at Keanu Reeves.
The “Friends” star told Los Angeles Times Festival of Books attendees Saturday that his “stupid” comment about the “John Wick” actor will be removed from “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing.”
Perry, 53, admitted that he “said a stupid thing” in the book, released in November 2022.
“It was a mean thing to do,” he added, per Variety. “If I run into the guy, I’ll apologize. It was just stupid.”
The “Odd Couple” alum noted that he only “pulled [Reeves’] name” because they “live on the same street.”
Perry publicly apologized for the dig after questioning in his memoir why the “Matrix” star, 58, “still walks among us” when other legendary actors have died.
“It always seems to be the really talented guys who go down,” he wrote. “Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die?”
Later in the memoir, the comedian recalled punching a hole in his co-star Jennifer Aniston’s dressing room wall when news broke of Chris Farley’s death, repeating that “Keanu Reeves [still] walks among us.”
In his apology last year, Perry called himself a “big fan” of the “Constantine” star.

“I just chose a random name, my mistake,” he said in a November 2022 statement. “I should have used my own name instead.”
As for Reeves, he has yet to comment on the diss — despite reportedly being “taken aback” by it.
Perry’s book name-dropped many other A-listers, including Julia Roberts, Valerie Bertinelli and other women he hooked up with over the years.
Bertinelli, for her part, hilariously reacted to the actor confessing they made out during her marriage to late rocker Eddie Van Halen.
“Anyone else misbehave in their 20’s and early 30’s?” the actress, 63, captioned a TikTok video at the time. “Are you mortified?”
Perry also detailed his drug and alcohol addiction and ongoing recovery in the tell-all — and in interviews promoting the book.
In a candid conversation with Diane Sawyer, he shared relapse signs to look out for, from saying he’s “going to chill at home alone tonight” to claiming he’s “cured.”
