After spending two months behind bars, Lori Loughlin wants to put the college cheating scandal ‘behind her,’ and HL has EXCLUSIVELY learned that means focusing on a possible acting comeback!
After serving her time for her role in the nationwide college admissions cheating scandal, Lori Loughlin is back home. The disgraced Fuller House star was released on Dec. 28, just two days shy of two months behind bars. With her career in shambles and her reputation ruined, Lori, 56, is now focusing on rebuilding her life. “Lori is very hopeful everything will all be behind her in 2021,” a source close to Lori tells HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY. “That’s why she’s tried to just lay as low as possible [since being released from jail]. She’s so ready to move on from all of this.”
Lori hasn’t made a public appearance since she was let out of prison early, and it seems that will be the case for the immediate future. Lori “would love to act again, but when the time is right,” the source tells HollywoodLife. “She’s ready to do it because she misses it and it’s her passion, but she also feels like more time needs to go by still for everyone to move on. But that is her overall goal in due time. She wants to return to some normalcy now that she’s served her time.”
She also has 100 hours of community service to fulfill since that’s part of her May 2020 sentencing. Lori and husband Mossimo Giannulli were accused of paying $500k in bribes to get their daughters – Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose Giannulli – enrolled in USC as part of the school’s crew team. After a year of fighting the charges levied against them, including money laundering, they finally threw in the towel. She pled guilty to one charge of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, and Moss pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and honest services wire and mail fraud. She was sentenced to two months, while her fashion designer beau was sentenced to five months. His current release date is April 17.
While Lori will be “laying low” and keeping out of the public eye, the same can’t be said for her daughter, Olivia Jade. A day after her mother was released, Olivia, 21, posted a TikTok video where she showed off a new beauty look. “Like this if I should bring back my #blogzzzzz,” she captioned the video, referencing her YouTube channel. The young beauty “influencer” stepped away from her channel and its 1.8 subscribers a year ago amidst the cheating scandal’s fallout. Olivia “wanted her mom to get back home first,” a source told HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY, “and then get back to work in the new year.” It seems both daughter and mother are ready to put this cheating scandal behind them.
