It’s happening!

All hail the return of KFC’s 80-piece popcorn chicken bucket.

That’s right, from Monday 24 August the mammoth meal deal will return – and it costs just £5.99.

Considering a regular popcorn chicken usually costs £3.29 that’s a great price.

Especially if you buy it with the Eat Out to Help Out discount – meaning that’s 80 pieces for just £2.99.

You’ll be able to get your hands (and fingers) on the tasty bucket from next week until October 4.

Fans who didn’t get their chicken craving met during lockdown can use the bargain to fill their boots.

Or, cook up some chips and add a bottle of pop and you’ve fed the whole family for less than a tenner.

Ahead of the launch, KFC said: "Remember February? Feels a long time ago.

“It was back then (in those face mask-free days) that we surprised the nation with the release of the 80 Piece Popcorn Chicken Bucket."

KFC continued: "Well it was such a hit that we've decided to bring it back again.

“From next Monday (24 August) onwards, you and your mates can enjoy 80 pieces of our 100 percent chicken breast Popcorn Chicken for just £5.99.

"That's 80 pieces of bite-sized fun to share… the only question to ask yourself is who are the clucky friends you'll split it with?"

And, you will want to share as 10 pieces contain 197 calories, according to Nutritionix.

So, the full bucket will fill you with a gut-busting 1,576 calories.

The massive bucket was previously taken off the menu in March – despite its popularity.

But, even then the company dropped hints that it wasn’t over for bucket-lovers.

A spokesperson told LADbible : "We knew our Popcorn Chicken was loved, but we never anticipated quite how loved our 80 Piece Popcorn Sharing Bucket would be!

“It was always a limited edition and it's now been taken off our menus, but watch this space… we're hoping to bring it back soon."

Over on Facebook, fans were thrilled at the news.

One person said: “I’ll pour KFC gravy in the bucket and devour!”

“WHERE is the nearest KFC?!” added another.

A third wrote: “Birthday meal!”
