Rita Ora had some time away at a luxurious retreat with her husband Taika Waititi earlier this month.

The Hot Right Now singer, 33, stayed at the exclusive Piwakawaka Point Estate on Lake Wanaka in New Zealand with Taika, 48.

Taking to Instagram, Rita shared some sweet snaps of their quality time at the accommodation.

One photo showed Taika sitting in a huge study surrounded by books and Rita posed in a skimpy bikini after having a dip in the water in another image.

Meanwhile, the relaxed star lay in bed in another picture before heading down to the lake to take a video of their stunning surroundings.

Rita and Taika looked to have had a lovely time away filled with delicious food, swimming, hiking and driving in a dune buggy around picturesque scenery.

The television personality captioned her post: "I can’t begin to explain the weekend I have had. Thank you for these memories @piwakawakapoint."

Although the couple have yet to reveal why they are in New Zealand, their trip comes after Taika, who was born in Wellington, recently splashed out on a $10.5 million (£8,290,000) waterfront home in Point Chevalier.

Also, Taika's two daughters Te Hinekāhu, 11, and Matewa Kiritapu, 8, who he shares with film producer ex-wife Chelsea Winstanley live in New Zealand, so he and Rita could be spending some quality time with them.

It comes after Rita finally confirmed that she got married to Taika last year.

The international superstar singer mostly kept her relationship and subsequent engagement to the Marvel key player lowkey over the last few years, save for a few red carpet appearances here and there.

And when it came to the couple's wedding, Rita was so determined to avoid addressing the speculation that she allowed the media to continually guess her wedding date.

She finally lifted the lid on details of their wedding earlier this year. The Voice judge wore an intricate Tom Ford lace wedding gown for her low-key ceremony and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery.

And in clips of the day, which are included in the star's new music video You & I, fans could glimpse just how rustic and beautiful the couple's special event was.

With just eight guests, and their parents only connecting via a video call, Rita and Taika decided to make their day just about them, with her sister Elena and his best friend Jermaine Clement the most important people in attendance.

The couple tied the knot in a gorgeous ceremony that featured one musician and a garden location in Los Angeles, USA.
