Content creator Jamie Nyland left viewers in tears when he shared a video in which he told his dad he had paid off the family mortgage.
The 24-year-old filmed his dad Richard’s reaction as he threw the house key to him, telling his dad that the mortgage was cleared.
In the video, Jamie, who has 2.3million followers from a decade of content creation, tells his dad: ‘I’ve just paid off your mortgage. I’ve just rung the bank and paid off every single penny left on your mortgage.
‘You now own this whole house. I swear. You’ve worked your whole life so now you can actually retire.’
Dad Richard is in shock at first, thinking Jamie is doing one of his pranks.
In disbelief, the dad breaks down in tears, telling Jamie what a wonderful son he is.
The sweet moment was shared on Jamie’s TikTok, where it has now been viewed more than 200,000 times.
Clearly one to make his parents happy, Jamie later shared a video where he hid a bunch of £5, £10, £20 notes around his mum’s bedroom, saying she deserved it for her hard work.
In the video, his dad Richard says: ‘You’re the best son in the world you can have.
He then hands the keys back to Richard, saying: ‘It’s in the will. The house is yours – what’s mine is yours.
‘I love you so much. You paid off my mortgage, I’ve put you in my will. You retire me for life so I’ve set you up for life.’
We reached out to Jamie to find out what it was like to break the news to his dad.
He tells Metro.co.uk: ‘I have saved up by doing YouTube for over 10 years as well as Vines.
‘And recently, my TikTok has became huge and helped me save to help this happen.
‘You can see from the emotions of the video how I felt. I can’t really put it into words, I felt amazing to be able to do that’.
