Less than a week after marking her first anniversary with fiancé Lori Haines, TOWIE star Ferne McCann has one more thing to celebrate, after reports emerged that the couple are expecting their first child together.
The 32 year old reality star, who is already a doting mum to 5 year old daughter Sunday, who she shares with her ex partner Arthur Collins, is said to be “over the moon” with the news, as she and Lorri look towards their future together.
"Ferne is over the moon. From the moment she met Lorri she knew she wanted to marry him and have his kids," a source told The Sun.
"They're both ready to commit and are looking forward to their future together."
OK! have contacted Ferne's rep for comment.
But with a potential new bundle of joy on the cards for the couple, we take a closer look back at Ferne and Lorri’s whirlwind romance from first meeting to their exciting baby news.
First meetings
Ferne and Lorri first went public with their romance in January 2022, when an Instagram post shared by both stars revealed them enjoying a meal together and looking adorably cosy.
Alongside the image, the smitten couple wrote: "When you know, you know…." as Ferne held her new beau's face in her hands.
It was later revealed that the pair, who already shared several mutual friends, first met up in Dubai after Lorri had spontaneously contacted Ferne out of the blue over New Year.
Quickly hitting it off due to their shared interests and enviable chemistry, the pair soon fell head over heels and have remained loved up since their first sun soaked meeting.
Recalling the anxiety she had before t heir first meeting to OK!, Ferne revealed she had confided in her pals Danielle Armstrong and Tom Edney just hours before meeting Lorri.
“I was really going into 2022 OK with just being like, ‘Do you know what, what will be will be, whatever. I don’t think I’m going to get that romcom, when you know you know, he’s The One moment. And that night I met Lorri.”
Long distance romance
After initially hitting it off, the couple were determined to give their romance a go, even as Ferne returned to the UK and Lorri continued to work in Dubai.
Opening up about how she felt at the start of their relationship during an episode of First Time Mum, Ferne gushed: "I honestly believe that we are so aligned. I've never felt like this with anyone, so comfortable with someone. I've never been my true authentic self.
"This is my first relationship where I'm like, 'Actually this is what I want and need.'"
Lorri also admitted he quickly fell for the 31 year old, and added: "When we had them chats on the beach and you basically told me a lot so quick, I was like, 'This girl is unreal. And I think I fell in love then."
Lorri even gained the approval of Ferne’s daughter Sunday, something Ferne later revealed was vital to any relationship with her.
“Put it this way, I wouldn’t be with someone if there were any difficulties or if she was uncomfortable or unhappy,” she told OK!
Lorri himself also understands the importance of gaining the support and approval of someone’s child, as he himself is also a dad to a young son from a previous relationship, whose name he has not publicly revealed.
Moving in together
After deciding he wanted to be closer to both Ferne and his son, Lorri later made the decision to ditch his glittering career in Dubai to move back home to the UK, where he now lives with Ferne in her stunning Essex home.
Revealing her beau had moved, Ferne told OK!: “He’s back here now for the foreseeable future, which is really exciting. He weighed everything up and his son’s here and lots of his other businesses are in the UK. And obviously he’s met the love of his life now so he’d be a bit foolish to live in a separate country."
"We thought long and hard as a couple about what would be best for our families and we’ve made this decision, " she added, referring to their decision to move in together.
Engagement
Six months after the couple started dating, Lorri decided to take his relationship with Ferne to the next level as after deciding he wanted to spend the rest of his life with the First Time Mum star.
Whisking the love of his life off to Paris, Lorri got down on one knee to propose to the woman of his dreams, with Ferne proudly sharing the news on social media as she showed off her stunning diamond engagement ring.
The pair's engagement came just one month after Ferne told OK! that she was sure it was going to happen.
"[Marriage and kids] is definitely something we talk about all the time. Lorri’s the first person I can see having a future with, so those things often come up. And with one of my best friends Danielle [Armstrong] getting married this year – it’s happening all around us," she revealed.
First anniversary getaway
In January 2023, the couple celebrated their first anniversary together with a romantic getaway to the Soho Farmhouse in Chipping Norton, where Ferne gushed over her boyfriend as both she and Lorri shared a number of photos from the trip.
"Celebrating our one year anniversary," she wrote. "I’ve learnt so much about love since being in this relationship. Perhaps before I had a warped idea of what love actually was."
The First Time Mum star went on: "Love isn’t all happiness. Romantic dates, lust, laughter, snuggles, cosy dinners & endless joy. No, love means warts n all & showing up no matter what.
The good the bad & the ugly. So Thankyou @lozzahaines for showing up through the good times and the really really really sh**ty times! It’s not been the easiest first year of a relationship but it’s also not been a total write off.”
Pregnancy news
Days after the loved up post, a source close to the couple told The Sun, that the couple would soon be welcoming a new addition to the family, as they claimed Ferne was pregnant.
"Ferne is over the moon. From the moment she met Lorri she knew she wanted to marry him and have his kids," a source told the publication.
"They're both ready to commit and are looking forward to their future together.”
The news has yet to be confirmed by Ferne herself however.
Wedding plans
Ferne's reported pregnancy may now change the couple's upcoming wedding plans, with couple having previously been hoping to have an intimate ceremony in France.
“While Ferne has said to friends that of course every girl dreams about that huge, big wedding, she is at the stage now where she just wants her nearest and dearest there,” a source told us.
“She would love that.”
They went on: "She may go abroad but she is wanting to keep it a bit more low-key and much more intimate and focus on the friends and family that she’ll have there."
