An emotional Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell got to see her daughter Kaitlyn graduate from elementary school amid the reality star’s battle with a rare form of cancer.
“I am one proud mama right now,” she wrote on Facebook Tuesday, “and I also can’t believe I am going to have a middle schooler and a second grader.
“give me a minute while I go cry my eyes out 🥰🥰😭😭 I am so proud of my girls and everything they have accomplished.”
Cardwell, 28, included pictures from her 10-year-old’s big day, including one of Kaitlyn speaking onstage during the ceremony.
She also shared snaps of herself posing with the graduate, her other daughter, Kylee, 7, and her boyfriend, Eldridge Toney.
Cardwell’s outing comes nearly two months after news surfaced that she had been diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma, a rare cancer in which malignant cells form in the outer layer of the adrenal gland, per Cancer.gov.
The “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” alum found out about her diagnosis after she underwent a series of tests for stomachaches. Cancer was then discovered in her liver, kidney and lung.
Cardwell’s youngest sister, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, was the first family member to confirm the news in March.
“& this is what I mean when I say you never truly know what somebody is going through at home. no matter how famous they are,” the 17-year-old wrote on her Instagram Stories.
“yes, I’m very famous but normal sh–t happens to me and my family & y’all need to realize that asap.”
Cardwell subsequently began her first round of chemotherapy, which caused her hair to fall out in “chunks,” her family told TMZ.

Since Cardwell has had to quit her job as a car saleswoman to focus on her health, her mother, June “Mama June” Shannon, has stepped up to care for her daughter and grandchildren.
“June and Anna were slowly working on building back their relationship about a year ago, but Anna’s recent stage 4 adrenal carcinoma diagnosis has rapidly brought the pair even closer,” a family source told TMZ last month.
In fact, Shannon, 43, is even relocating to Georgia with her husband, Justin Stroud, so that she can be closer to Cardwell.
“We are definitely leaving Alabama,” the reality star told the US Sun on Sunday.
“I’m in the process of leaving Alabama now, and I’m in the final steps of my legal issues, so we’ll definitely be going back to Georgia,” she continued, referencing her and her ex-boyfriend Geno Doak’s 2019 felony drug possession arrest in Alabama.
Cardwell recently gave fans a health update, revealing that chemo has been “working.”
“this [photo is from] yesterday,” she captioned a silly selfie with her boyfriend, Eldridge Toney. “it was pretty good day but … Cracker Barrel was good going down but not up 😂.”
“but over all it’s going good and chemo is working we come to find,” she continued. “so things are looking good 😇😁😁🙏.”
