A lovable Scottish pooch was left with his tail between his legs after he ate his owner's engagement ring.

Brodie, a Labrador puppy from West Lothian, shocked his owner after he swallowed his owner's engagement ring whole, Edinburgh Live reported.

The guilty-looking dog was taken to a veterinary practice in Whitburn to have the ring removed, cleaned and returned to the owner – but vets were shocked to discover more than they bargained for.

After the young canine was given an injection to bring up his breakfast, vets discovered the hungry hound had also swallowed a 5p coin.
