FAKE TANS, hair extensions and dazzling whitened teeth are the look of summer thanks to Love Island, but would it suit older fans of the show?
We gave four over-50 readers a makeover that would give islanders Anna and Anton a run for their money.
It even included contoured abs using make-up for the men.
They give their verdicts to Nikki Watkins and Abby McHale.
Sharon, 57: 'Waxing was too painful to ever do again,'
LOVE Island fan Sharon Williams is happy with her current, demure style.
The married admin assistant, from Crouch End, North London, has two daughters aged 15 and 22. She says:
“My daughters watch Love Island too, and they pay close attention to the make-up.
"But the Islanders wear too much.

“My style is very different to the girls in the villa, I’m more moderate.
"If I wear make-up, I prefer it to be natural.

VERDICT: “This is very different, it’s certainly not me, look how long my hair is.
"The hair removal was too painful, I won’t do it again.
"I feel out of my comfort zone.”
David, 61: 'Removing my body hair just isn’t for me,'
PERSONAL trainer David Morris watches Love Island with accountant wife Nickie, sons Adam, 18, and Sam, 20. David, from Barnet, North London, says:
“I am an avid watcher of the show, as are my kids and wife.
“The Islanders’ grooming routine is pretty far from my own.
"I’m not into fake tan or the teeth veneers the lads favour.

"Also ‘manscaping’ and removing all my hair is not for me.
“I am so looking forward to this transformation and to not be like myself.”
VERDICT: “I loved every minute of this makeover. But if I dressed like this my sons would disown me.
"I would take the pain of teeth whitening and waxing to look like this – but only if I was in my twenties.”

Penny, 64: 'I’d wear cossie but tone down the make-up,'
SINGLE Penny Haskins is not a lover of the Islanders’ fashion.
The retired receptionist, from Bromley, Kent, says:
“I am addicted to watching Love Island. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions.
“The girls look gorgeous, but the all-out glamour is not my style.

"I wear make-up but prefer a more natural look.

“I’ve got my own style. I avoid dressing as ‘mutton dressed as lamb’ as I feel it’s something you have to be careful of at my age.
"But I am excited to do this experiment.”

VERDICT: “I’d actually wear the swimsuit.
"I like the hair and make-up, but I’d tone it down.
"I enjoyed the spray tan, I’d get one again.
"Overall I was pleasantly surprised.”

Lester, 53: 'Spray tan felt gross and the waxing hurt,'
CHEF Lester Adams admits his style is a million miles from the Islanders’.
Lester, from St Albans, Herts, has an 18-year-old son and 23-year-old daughter with wife Sue, a counsellor, 53. He says:
“If I were to go on holiday and turned up wearing what the Islanders wear, my kids would be mortified.

"I’ve not got a grooming routine, I’ve never been waxed or had a fake tan and I don’t wear jewellery.
“This is certainly going to be an experience for me.”
VERDICT: “The spray tan felt gross and waxing my chest hurt. The body make-up is a no-no too.
"I wouldn’t have chosen the stripe shorts but they look good.”
