IT'S NO secret that babies are incredibly messy, and they don't grow out of it in a hurry.

If your sick of throwing away perfectly good clothes because they've got food stains on them, you're not alone.

It turns out you don't need to chuck the stained clothes out just yet though because one mum shared how she gets rid of stains and doesn't pay a penny.

Posting the hack on TikTok, the mum said: "This is one of the best mum hacks I've learnt."

She showed a stained baby grow which her son had spilt watermelon and ketchup on.

After washing it the stains were still visible.

"I have put some stain remover on it and it's just not done the trick," she explained.

The mum shared that to help remove the stain she left the stained baby grow outside in direct sunlight.

After leaving it in the the stains had faded significantly, which is pretty amazing considering she didn't have for fork out for pricey cleaning products.

The mum added: "Because this was such a tough and large stain it took about 12 hours in the sun and will need a little more."

Despite there still being a very faint mark still, the baby grow looked miles better than it did.

She said: "Compared to what it was at the start do you not think that's just amazing?"

Other parents loved the trick as well, one said: "Sunlight is like magic for stains!"

A second agreed: "The sun is amazing for stains I had no idea until I became a mum!"

And another quipped: "Honestly life changing!"
