The family were well coordinated as they made their public appearance, with King Felipe, Queen Letizia and Princess Leonor all wearing a dark navy hue.

The royals’ youngest daughter Princess Sofia stuck to darker colours too, with a black and grey dress.

Queen Letizia looked sophisticated in a figure-hugging dress with long sleeves and a structured contrast hem detail.

The mother-of-two was dressed in head-to-toe Carolina Herrara, a Venezuelan fashion designer.

The designer is well known for dressing First Ladies, including Michelle Obama, Jacqueline Onassis and Laura Bush.

While the exact dress doesn’t seem to be available online, similar shapes sell for hundreds of pounds on the retailer’s website.

Queen Letizia’s pointed-toe heels were by the same label, perfectly matching her all-blue outfit.

It costs just £81 (or €90) and is handmade with gold-plated silver, featuring a bold loop design.

Her husband King Felipe matched with his wife in a dark navy suit, crisp white shirt and a polka dot tie.

Meanwhile Queen Letizia’s eldest daughter Princess Leonor followed in her stylish mother’s footsteps with a navy shirt dress and pointed flat shoes.

The teen’s belted long-sleeved shirt dress was by French designer Claudie Pierlot.

Both of the royal daughters wore smart flat shoes by Pretty Ballerinas as they attended the event.

The Spanish royals joined the country’s Prime Minister at the royal palace in Madrid.

The young girls have been making more appearances in recent weeks as their parents King Felipe and Queen Letizia began a royal tour of the country.

The duo visited several Spanish Autonomous Communities to help support the community after the coronavirus outbreak.

While the family dressed appropriately in dark colours to respect the victims on Thursday, Queen Letizia has been spotted in both designer and high street brands in recent weeks.

The royal has worn floral maxi dresses as she meets with locals, as well as recycling old favourites from her impeccable designer wardrobe.
