Selena Gomez’s second collection for Puma hits close to home. The just-released range of athletic apparel, sneakers, and sporty accessories is inspired by her jet-setting lifestyle, in addition to being an ode to her hometown of Grand Prairie, TX. To execute that vision, the singer and actress incorporated graphics including her birth date (July 22, 1992), the coordinates of her hometown, and a semicolon, which she has tattooed on her wrist.
“I’m in love with this collection, because it’s inspired by my life,” Selena said in a press release. “I obviously wanted to create something that matches my lifestyle and that shows the real me – I’ve said it before, I need something that’s comfortable and flattering, pieces that I can just put on and give the impression it took me hours to plan.” She added, “My favorite thing about it is that it gives different nods to me, to my history. The graphics show the places that hold a special piece in my heart, my birthday, my tattoos, my identity.”
Selena joined Puma as an ambassador in 2017, and she’s since starred in several campaigns for the brand, which ultimately culminated in her releasing her first full-fledged collection late last year.
For this new collection, Selena debuted two new sneaker styles: the SG Runner and the SG Slip-On. Her favorite piece in the collection is the oversize SG Sweatshirt. Check out the travel-inspired campaign ahead, and shop a few pieces from the collection, available in stores and online starting May 15.
