PINK is the latest celebrity to step in to defend Meghan Markle and Prince Harry over their private jet backlash.

The 39-year-old singer called upon people to “be a little kinder” after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were branded “hypocrites” for taking four private jets in 11 days.

Taking to Twitter, she said to her 32.1million fans: “I’m happy to see people coming to the defense of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“The way people treat her is the most public form of bullying I have seen in a while. It’s out of control. Let’s all be a bit kinder, huh?

“Let’s show our children that it’s cool to be kind.”

Her tweet clearly struck a chord with followers, and has racked up over 75,000 likes and nearly 6,000 retweets.

The ‘eco warrior’ royal couple were slammed for using private jets for their summer holidays to Ibiza and Nice after recently speaking out about environmental issues.

Photos emerged of Meghan, 38, and husband Harry, 34, using a 12-seater Cessna plane, which generates seven times the emissions per person when compared to a commercial flight, to stay in Elton John’s house in France.

This was despite there being more than 20 scheduled departures from London airports to Nice each Wednesday, with an EasyJet return costing £232.

Their Nice trip took place days after the couple took a private jet to fly to Ibiza to celebrate Meghan's 38th birthday.

It is estimated that both trips combined generated a carbon emission of seven tonnes – not including the trips of the jets if they had to return between the journeys.

PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN MARKLE'S JET-SETTING CARBON FOOTPRINT

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex travelled by private jet on their holidays this summer, which generates an estimated seven times more emissions per person than commercial flights.

Their return Nice flight is estimated to have a carbon footprint of over three tons.

This is in addition to their Ibiza trip earlier this month which is thought to have a footprint of over four tons.

A tree removes around seven tons of carbon dioxide from the air once fully grown – and this equates to the royal couple needing to plant one tree to offset their carbon footprint of their two trips this month.

The average UK person has a carbon footprint of 13 tons a year.

Pink’s comments come after Elton John's passionate defence of the couple’s use of the private jet to visit his swanky £15million mansion in Nice.

The Rocket Man singer, 72, confirmed he provided the luxury 12-seater Cessna plane, that would have cost over £20,000 to hire, due to the couple's "high level of much-needed protection."

He took to Twitter after photos emerged of the Sussexes boarding a private jet with son Archie – despite frequently preaching about the environment.

Begging for fair coverage, Elton, said: "After a hectic year continuing their hard work and dedication to charity, David and I wanted the young family to have a private holiday inside the safety and tranquillity of our home.

"To maintain a high level of much-needed protection, we provided them with a private jet flight.

"To support Prince Harry’s commitment to the environment, we ensured their flight was carbon neutral, by making the appropriate contribution to Carbon Footprint."

And Ellen DeGeneres, 61, also chimed in the debate saying the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are attacked “for everything they do”.

Ellen said: “Portia and I met Prince Harry and Meghan in England to talk about their work on wildlife conservation. They were the most down-to-earth, compassionate people.”

"Imagine being attacked for everything you do, when all you’re trying to do is make the world better."

And Meghan’s best friend Jessica Mulroney also took to Instagram to call out “racist bullies” and said “when someone faces unfair criticism, you call it out”.
