A MUM has vowed never to go for dinner with her friend ever again, after they decided to change their baby's nappy on the table in a busy restaurant.

She had been enjoying lunch with her pal, when her friend's four-month-old needed changing. Deciding to sort her baby right there and then, the mum set up on an empty table next to theirs, with everyone looking on as she cleaned her little one up.

Shocked by her friend's actions, the mum revealed online that she was "mortified" and quizzed whether she was being "unreasonable" for not wanting to go for lunch with her again.

She explained that she too is a mum-of-three and would never have changed her baby in front of others eating in a restaurant, she would have made sure to go outside.

Sharing a post on Mumsnet, the mum wrote: "I went to an independent pizza place for lunch with a friend.

"Her 4 month old did a poo. The restaurant only had one tiny toilet with no changing space."

The woman continued: "My friend used the empty table next to us to change her baby.

"I was mortified and other customers watched us, I think one was filming us surreptitiously."

Put off by the public nappy change, she asked: "Am I wrong not to want to go to lunch with her again?

"Fwiw [for what it's worth] I have 3 small children and I would have changed them outside."

Her post racked up hundreds of comments, with many asking the mum whether she questioned her friend at the time.

The mum admitted she was "so embarrassed" as she responded: "When she started getting prepared to change him, I suggested going outside but she said it was too cold outside.

"I was so embarrassed and I didn’t object as much as I could have because I was quite shocked that it was happening."

Others were outraged and claimed it is "never justified" to change a baby's nappy on a restaurant table.

One person commented: "Did you say something? I wouldn’t be happy if I was a diner."

Another said: "It is never justified to change a nappy on a restaurant table."

A third wrote: "So revolting! I would have changed on toilet floor or found somewhere outside."

"I wouldn’t have gone outside. I would have positioned myself next to the toilet and done it in my pram. On a table is just gross," one more added.

Another explained they were in a similar situation when their brother changed his baby on the table during a pub lunch.

They said: "I would never have done this. I would have gone outside and found somewhere or gone to the car. My brother once changed his baby on our table during Sunday lunch in a village pub and said "it's OK thankfully just wind" and I was absolutely disgusted and we had a full on row about how inappropriate it was."

"That’s disgusting. It’s pretty terrible that the restaurant doesn’t have changing facilities, but still no justification for that," shared one more person.

Grossed out, one person posted: "At a push I'd have changed the baby on my lap. And id probably have done that in the toilet."
