A MAN has told how he has been left with a terrible tattoo after deciding to get an inspirational inking across his arm.

He opted to get the motivational motto on his left forearm as a daily reminder to persevere – but everyone has been pointing out the same issue.

The client wanted the phrase "life is tough, but so are you" scribed upon his skin, to encourage him to overcome adversity.

But his moving message was unfortunately warped by the tattoo artist, distorting the entire expression and making it illegible.

The cursive script is positioned directly next to a red flower that the man had previously got inked on his arm.

But despite the tattoo artist still having plenty of room to work with, they somehow scrunched up some important vowels.
