KENSINGTON Palace has shared a VERY smiley photo of Prince William to celebrate his 37th birthday.

The Duke of Cambridge looks happy and relaxed as he grinned for the camera during his tour of Namibia, Tanzania and Kenya last year.

Dressed casually in a khaki shirt and chinos, the Prince is pictured leaning against a Safari car at Mkomazi Rhino Sanctuary in Tazmania.

The caption read: "Thank you everyone for your lovely wishes on The Duke of Cambridge's birthday!"

Royal fans flooded the comments to wish the Prince a happy birthday, with many taking the chance to compliment the "lovely photo".

One replied: "Gosh, he looks like his mother!"

Another wellwisher added: "Happy birthday Prince William. Have a great day surrounded by your wife and three precious children."

Clarence House's official Twitter account also shared a photo of a two-year-old Prince William playing in the gardens of Kensington Palace.

Sharing the black-and-white image with their 835,000 followers, the caption read: "Happy Birthday to HRH The Duke of Cambridge, who turns 37 today.

"The Prince of Wales and Prince William play in the garden at Kensington Palace, 1984."

Prince Andrew was among other members of the Royal Family to wish his nephew a happy birthday.

Sharing another black-and-white photo of William when he was four years old, Prince Andrew wrote: "Happy Birthday to The Duke of Cambridge!

"In 1986, Prince Andrew and Prince William explore the helicopter on board the HMS Brazen."

The solo shot of Prince William without Kate and the children comes after Kensington Palace's Father's Day post, which notably did not feature Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Posting across the Kensington Palace Instagram and Twitter accounts, Prince William shared a sweet image of himself playing with his youngest son on a swing rope in Kate Middleton's Chelsea Flower Show garden last month as well as an image of him and his own father Prince Charles.

However, fans were left disappointed by the social media post and accused Kensignton Palace of "making no effort at all".

Back in January, Kate Middleton – who is five months older than her husband – celebrated turning 37 with a "private" birthday party with George, Charlotte and Louis as Prince William attended a tea party London Air Ambulance engagement.

Earlier this week, Kate and William joined The Queen, Zara Tindall and Prince Charles at Royal Ascot together where the Royals greeted each other and chatted as the 16 jockey and their horses were paraded around the royal enclosure.

In more Royal Family news, Kate Middleton has made Prince William a birthday photo album featuring family photos and drawings by the kids to remind him of "what's really important".

And this is the sweet moment Kate Middleton and Prince William rushed across the Kensington Palace lawn to greet their kids after a Cumbria trip.

Plus Meghan Markle and Prince Harry "won't slot in line" and be "controlled" by Prince William as the Fab Four split, a royal expert has revealed.
