THEY may live in a palace and be in line for the throne – but Prince William and Kate Middleton love a pub lunch as much as the rest of us.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge take George, six, Charlotte, four, and one-year-old Louis to the Old Boot Inn in Bucklebury in Berkshire, according to the Mirror.
When visiting Kate’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, the royals like to pop out for shepherd’s pie.
Landlord Andre Classen told the publication: “I think they like coming here because people leave them alone.
“No one bothers them or asks for selfies. It’s hard to know what to say when you go and talk to William, but he’s very friendly.”
This comes weeks after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tucked into a £15 roast dinner, with baby Archie next to them, at The Rose & Crown in Winkfield village in Berkshire.
Andre added: “When George is here, he wears a camouflage outfit. You have to pretend like you can’t see him. Charlotte’s very cute.”
He said the couple don’t expect special treatment and are “discreet” when they visit.
The 300-year-old pub, which uses food sourced locally from farmers and fisherman, said Kate and William have been coming into the pub since they started dating.
The landlord said the royal couple would sit at the corner table near the fire so “no one would bother them”.
Carole, 64, and Michael, 70, are also said to be regulars in the pub, and Andre said Kate’s sister Pippa, 35, and hedge fund executive husband James Matthews, 44, visited last month.
Carole even likes to pop in “at least two nights a week” for a glass of Pinot Noir.
When the Cambridge family visit Kate’s parents, royal protection officers and cars are said to be a common sight around the picturesque village.
Carole and Michael, who run event supplies company Party Pieces, are said to have added sleeping quarters onto their £4.7million home for when the couple come to stay.
