A NURSE specialising in botox and filler has revealed the five things she’d NEVER do when getting injected herself.

Ashley Carmen’s non-negotiables means her tweakments last longer and settle properly in her face.

The expert warned against following trends on TikTok and not looking after your skin between injectable appointments.

Her 17 years in the industry mean she knows the red flags you should be on the lookout for when letting someone put a needle in your face.

“Aesthetics is very much medicine, but who is to say it can’t be comfortable, inviting and cosy?"

Some of Carmen’s non-negotiables are personal, too.

She warned against trying “gimmicky” skincare at home with no medical advice.

The injector said: "From ‘slugging’ to at-home micro-needling, the kitchen ingredients that folks decide to use as a holy grail.

“Honestly, the things that people tell me they’ve done in their homes is truly baffling.

“Not only are some of them disturbing, but some can cause so much more harm than good.”

Those wanting injectables should also ensure they have a good skincare regime.
