A PROFESSIONAL dog behaviourist has revealed which three breeds are not suitable for those wanting a peaceful family life.

Having pets is pretty standard if you want to grow your family – but according to one expert, not all dogs are a safe option.

To ensure you make the best pick, animal pro Will Atherton took to TikTok to share his thoughts on some of the most popular breeds – and why they make for a bad addition if you have children.

First up in the video was the Belgian Malinois, said Will who fixes dogs ''when they've gone terribly wrong''.

Whilst this breed is capable of ''crazy feats of obedience'' and training, this doesn't mean they're a good fit for families.

The whizz explained: ''They bite children, they hurt children, they have no off switch and they want to be 'Go, go, go' all the time.''

When looking for your next furry friend, the dog behaviourist also advised against choosing the Caucasian Shephard – or any large livestock guardian breeds.

''Yes, they can be protective of the family – but they're much better suited to live outside on a farm.

''If you try and bring them in the home, they might not have the patience or the ability to get away from the children that they find frustrating.''

Just like with the Belgian Malinois, this will often result in unexpected biting and attacks.

Last but certainly not least was the Dogo Argentino with his signature athletic and muscular body.

Will said: ''I love Mastiff breeds – but of all the Mastiff breeds this is the one I hear going wrong with children the most.''

Since being uploaded on the platform, the clip has gone viral, racking up more than a whopping 6k comments.

But despite the recommendations and advice, it seems that many disagreed with what Will had stated.

One, for instance, noted: ''The dogo argentino is the best dog I ever had! Amazing with me son.''

Another addedL ''So you mean the Belgian Malinois does their job and families don’t know how to train or deal with that.''

Someone else reckoned: ''No such thing as bad breeds, just bad families.''

''Then I am getting a farm I don’t care how much money it’s gonna cost I’m getting A Caucasian shepherd,'' a pet lover chuckled.

''Pitbulls has to be the first,'' a social media user added.
