A COUPLE with a 22-year age gap between them have insisted they're happier than ever, despite critics predicting their romance would never work.
Alexander Crowley, 25, regularly shares videos of himself and his girlfriend on his TikTok page, and recently posted a clip alongside his "soulmate".
"Once upon a time I met a 47 year old woman who became my soulmate," he captioned the video.
"People didn’t understand our age gap and said it wouldn’t last. A year later and we are still going strong."
Despite Alexander insisting that the pair are more in love than ever, some people in the comments section of the video were less than convinced that the romance could go the distance.
"Bro gonna have two moms to put in a home!" one person wrote.
While another commented: "She must have money….looks like she could be your mother."
A third person added: "Poor old bag is going to get played. can’t cheat old age. It shows already. Enjoy it while it lasts."

And while Alexander's girlfriend has to deal with such cruel remarks while dating a younger man, there are significant perks to being in a relationship with a 25-year-old.
"People keep asking me, ‘What are the perks of dating a younger guy?’" she said in a video on TikTok.
"And I’m like, ‘It’s really nice to be able to run my hands through his hair – not the hair on his back, the hair on his head – he’s got some there, it’s really nice’.
"He stays really active with me – I’m a very active person and he’ll do stuff with me – he’s not winded walking to the car or up the stairs and have to catch his breath."
She added: "He doesn’t even own a Lazy Boy yet, ok? You know, just get up and do stuff with him, it’s really nice.
"He’ll read stuff with me when I can’t see it, he’ll take it and read it – he’s got great eyes.
"It’s nice to have a young guy like that – a young whippersnapper – it keeps you young!"
