WHEN it's that time to freshen up your hair, you usually go in with a pretty good idea of what you want your finished locks to look like, right?

Well, one woman decided to hand over all control to her hairdresser and signed herself up for a blind appointment, where she asked her stylist to deliberately 'not tell her' anything she was doing to her hair.

TikTok user @cuttincassie explained that a client came to her with damaged and frizzy locks that were in serious need of a little TLC.

Wanting a change but a surprise at the same time, she gave the stylist free rein to do whatever she liked to her locks, without giving any pointers at all.

The hairdresser revealed in a video she shared online: "My client wanted me to surprise her and not tell her anything I was doing."

The client came in with long hair that wasn't in the greatest condition and deciding to spruce things up, the stylist didn't hesitate to go in for the chop.

She began the transformation by cutting off several inches of the client's hair so it sat just below her shoulders.

Then she set to work adding colour to the woman's hair to freshen it up, before then revealing the finished result.

The woman was left with a long bob with red tones running through and apparently "loved" her new look.

People who came across the hairdresser's video were also blown away by the transformation and hundreds commented giving it their seal of approval.

"Gorgeous, what a transformation," said one beauty fan.

Another wrote: "You definitely understood the assignment. Beautiful."

A third shared: "Love the colour, looks so pretty."

One more posted: "Hair stylists always like to chop off hair! Looks great and healthy!"

The hairdresser responded: "It needed to happen. It's the longest it had been it had been in a while and it was always up in a ponytail."

Another person couldn't believe the trust the client had put in the hairdresser to do what she pleased with her hair.

"It takes an unbelievable amount of trust to tell someone to do what they want," they commented.

Revealing that the woman was a long-time client of hers, the stylist replied: "She's been coming to me for the last 5 years and has had me surprise her probably about every other appointment."

Could you do the same?
