IN all her years of working at a chimney sweeping company, Cheryl Thorne thought she'd seen it all.

As an office manager for Sweeps Chimney Services, Cheryl says it's commonplace for workers to find random objects hidden in the hard-to-reach spot.

But until now, the most unusual things they'd ever come across were an old packets of cigarettes and collection of coloured stones.

However, that all changed this week when one of their employees found an adorable note a little boy had written to Santa.

The singed and sooty note – marked 'urgent' – was discovered by sweeps at a house in Worksop, Nottinghamshire.

In the neatly written letter, the little boy called Robert Crampton asked for"cowboy suit and guns and a hat and everything".

If Father Christmas were to make his dreams a reality, the boy signed off the note with: "That would be enough for me, Santa. See you tomorrow night."

The chimney sweepers found the note at the property – the exact location of which is being kept secret – on Monday.

Cheryl added: "The soot came down and in it was this perfectly folded note. When they read it, they were absolutely astonished."

What's more, it also came as a surprise to the couple who own the property and lived there for years.

The Sweeps office manager continued: "This is definitely the best [find] ever.

"I had always told people the one thing I had hoped to find was a note to Santa."

Now the homeowners and chimney sweeps have joined together to track down the boy who wrote the heartwarming note.

Cherly added: "What we all want to know is, did he get what he wanted?"

And if they can't return the note to him, the anonymous homeowners have pledged to have it framed for safe-keeping.
