A MAN has revealed the baffling texts he received after being stood up for a date, but people have warned it's a scam.

The unlucky-in-love lad shared screenshots of the exchange on Reddit, sent in advance of their 6pm date.

When the woman said she'd be there at 6.10, her date said he'd "make sure a drink is waiting".

But instead of thanking him for the gesture, the woman immediately replied: "Ok then. You are gonna pay for my fuel though".

When the confused bloke asked: "Hahah. What?" she bluntly said: "I'm taking my car".

Even without the cheekiness of asking for money, the guy was shocked as they had agreed to meet in Soho, central London, which is much easier to access by public transport than driving.

When he asked if she was serious and she insisted she was, the bloke simply continued to laugh.

The woman then asked: "Yes or no if you are not forget about it then", at which point the guy had enough, texting: "You are an absolute riot.

"Thank you so much for the entertainment. I'm gonna get days of fun talking about this. No thank you. Jesus."

He then shared the exchange on Reddit, writing: "On the recent subject of entitled dates, she demanded I pay for her fuel to drive INTO SOHO so I could buy her a drink!"

People soon laid into the woman, commenting: "I can’t work out why she’s single" and: "Some people genuinely don't seem to realise that public transport exists."

But others said the guy had a lucky escape and warned him it seemed like a scam.

One said: "Guarantee there was no car and they were just trying to fleece (him) for money".

While a second wrote: "This was a scam 100% sorry bro".

Another reader commented: "The way 'she' types and speaks seems off and driving into Soho?

"With Ulez, congestion and parking would probably end up being way more than the fuel costs if she was in driving distance of Soho anyway.

"You were definitely being catfished, 'she' almost certainly pulls this scam with other people then probably blocks them once they receive payment."
