Actor Jake Manley landed a role playing the character York on Netflix’s Holidate, a 2020 rom-com that looks both adorable and funny. Viewers may recognize him from his role as Jack Morton in The Order or Derek in Seven in Heaven, among many other roles, according to his IMDb credits. While Manley is having major success as a rising star, he’s also reaching some happy milestones in his personal life. In August 2020, ET Online reported that Manley proposed to his longtime girlfriend, fellow actress Jocelyn Hudon.
Do you want to know the cutest part? Hudon’s a massive Gilmore Girls fan, so Manley arranged an aptly themed proposal. They arrived at an Airbnb in Montreal, Canada, and walked up to the rooftop terrace, per ET Online, where Hudon found 1,000 red roses. Hudon admitted that she was mystified at first, but Manley said “1,000 red roses,” and got down on one knee.
If that isn’t the cutest proposal story, we don’t know what is! So here’s everything to know about this remarkable actress and Gilmore Girls fan.
Jocelyn Hudon is a Hallmark Channel favorite
Jocelyn Hudon spoke with ET Online in August 2020 about her career and new engagement to actor Jake Manley. Hudon shared with the outlet that she met Manley through the person who films their auditions and that they actually share the same agent. “We ended up driving to our agent’s summer party together and have been together ever since,” she said.
Hudon grew up in Toronto, Canada, and has impressive IMDb credits. She was in Guillermo del Toro’s The Strain and had a leading role in the Hallmark Channel series When Calls the Heart and When Hope Calls, playing Grace Bennett in both.
In an interview with the Hallmark Channel in 2019, Hudon admitted that she loves surprises, so Manley’s thoughtful engagement was right up her alley! According to her Hallmark Channel bio, Hudon is actually a trained ballerina, having studied at the National Ballet School of Canada.
Fun fact: her favorite thing is Milk Bar birthday cake, so yeah, she’s a winner in our books!
