Strictly Come Dancing star Shirley Ballas, 59, addressed her some 160,000 Instagram followers about her recent performance in the pantomime Jack and the Bean Stalk in Darlington and explained how “anything and everything went wrong”.

Shirley posted a video on to the social media platform.

Her words included: “Let me tell you anything that could wrong, went wrong today!

“Sound system went down, everybody lost their way, including me.”

She went on to praise the professionalism of her co-stars.

She continued: “And the professionalism of George Sampson, Phil Walker and Ian Stewart Robinson was just off the chart, it was amazing.”

The champion ballroom dancer and mum-of-one also said that the experience helped her “learn a lot” and that the performance was a little “scary”

She said: “The first dance, the lift never went up! The boy…I don’t know where he was!Didn’t turn up…whatever.

“But anything and everything that could go wrong today, went wrong.

“But the show goes on, the audience loved it and I myself learned a lot.

“I’m used to it in dancing but in panto it is a little more scary for me when things go wrong.”

Her post’s caption reflected similar sentiments.
