Making use of her YouTube channel, the 23-time Grand Slam singles champion shares a four-minute video documenting the moment she told her first child she has a baby in her belly.
AceShowbiz –Serena Williams has apparently been called “fat” by her own daughter. The 23-time Grand Slam singles champion made the revelation in a short video documenting the moment she and her husband Alexis Ohanian told 5-year-old Olympia that she is pregnant with her second child.
On Wednesday, May 24, the 42-year-old let out a video titled “Olympia’s Surprise” on her YouTube channel. In the four-minute clip, she could be seen sitting on a chair as she explained to the camera, “Olympia does not know right now that I am pregnant, but she did call me fat, and then she got really like stressed out.”
Imitating her little girl’s voice, Serena said, “She was like, ‘Mommy, you’re fat.’ ” She went on to share her thought on her daughter’s innocent comment. “I tried not to take it personal, ’cause I’m like super into fitness, but I’m like, ‘uhh, am I?’ ” she recalled. “I’m really, really excited to see her reaction.”
The footage then moved to the scene wherein Serena and her husband Alexis sat down on a couch with Olympia in between them. Serena then asked Olympia, “Remember how you’ve been praying for a little sister or brother?” In return, Olympia mumbled, “Mhm.” Serena continued, “Well, we went to the doctor, and it turns out I’m not getting fat. But I have a baby in my belly.”
Surprised by the news, Olympia asked back, “Are you kidding me?” Serena replied, “No, you’re going to be a big sister.” Olympia did not take long to unleash her excitement. She proceeded to hug her mother before running around the room, jumping and screaming, causing both of her parents to laugh.
Serena herself has shared news of her second pregnancy with the world back in early May. Through an Instagram post, the younger sister of Venus Williams shared photos of her showing off her baby bump on the red carpet of the 2023 Met Gala. She captioned the post, “Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala.”
