The Academy Awards are tonight, which means that Los Angeles has been abuzz with events leading up to the big award show all week. One of those events was a pre-Oscars WME party on Friday, where it just so happened that Miley Cyrus and her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth showed up.

And even though the couple has been separated for five months, Miley and Liam finalized their divorce a just a few weeks ago. So while this run-in could have been super awkward (Miley’s parents were also there!), it sounds like Miley and Liam chose to just ignore each other.

A source tells Us Weekly, “They stayed away from each other. Liam left when Miley and her parents got there.” But apparently neither Liam nor the Cyrus fam was upset about seeing each other, and the source adds, “Miley’s parents were staying separate from Liam and were hanging out in the back area of the party. They avoided him, but didn’t seem they had any beef with him. Miley also didn’t seem to be bothered by the fact that Liam was there because he left soon after she walked in.”

Reminder: Miley Cyrus is currently dating Cody Simpson, and Liam Hemsworth is dating model Gabriella Brooks, so they’ve both moved on. Let’s all also note that it’s very possible that Miley and Liam are on good terms, but avoided each other at the party because they didn’t want people reading into their interactions. Or at least that’s what I’m telling myself, cause I secretly really want them to get back together!
