Mariah Carey has shared a “We Belong Together” remix on social media. She had performed the intimate remix ahead of Valentine’s Day, dubbing it as “Mimi’s Late Night Valentine Mix.”
“Moments with the band 7 minutes late night mix of We Belong Together,” the singer tweeted, and added, “More to come. Feeling inspired!”
“Now dealing with the pandemic and dealing with everything that we’re all dealing with, ‘We Belong Together’ is really even more of a message than it was when we first wrote this song, because we do belong together, meaning all of us,” Carey recently told Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest about what new meaning the song has taken on during the pandemic. “So hopefully a little later, as things are getting in terms of the pandemic, we’ll all be together again.”
Carey released the acclaimed “We Belong Together” in 2005 as the second single from her tenth studio album, The Emancipation Of Mimi. The song earned Carey the awards under the Best R&B Song and Best R&B Female Vocal Performance categories at the 48th annual Grammys. It also got the singer her 16th No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
