Lucy Pargeter, 42, took to Twitter recently to urge Emmerdale fans to vote for her at the British Soap Awards 2019.
The star retweeted a video posted by the ITV soap’s account which saw Lucy’s character Chas Dingle crying whilst cradling Grace next to Paddy
The couple had been told during the pregnancy that the baby was suffering from a condition called Bi-lateral Renal Agnesis.
The doctor also said the baby’s kidneys hadn’t developed and there were issues with her lungs.

Elsewhere on Twitter this week, viewers quizzed the star ahead of the British Soap Awards on the hashtag “#AskLucy” from Emmerdale’s account.
One person asked the actress what’s her favourite thing about playing the Dingle character.
She replied: “It’s never a dull life, there’s always plenty to do and experiencing life experiences that I wouldn’t necessarily get to do! Lucy x #AskLucy #Emmerdale @lucyparge.”
When asked which other character she would be, Lucy responded: “Charity Dingle because she just gets to be extremely rude to people and get away with it. Lucy x #AskLucy #Emmerdale @lucyparge.”
A third quizzed Lucy on how she prepare for emotional scenes.
She said: “I started listening to music, some emotive songs that mean something to. I’ll listen to them just before I go for a take. Lucy x #AskLucy #Emmerdale @lucyparge.”
