FormerLove Island starIndiyah Polack has been defended by fans after coming under fire following a recent trip to the doctors.

23 year old Indiyah, whose career post-Love Island has been going from strength to strength, took to Twitter to tell her fans about her “dramatic” trip to a GP surgery, leaving fans divided about whether or not the trip was necessary.

Explaining the situation to her 91,100 followers, the reality TV personality revealed that she’d visited her doctors after suffering a broken acrylic nail.

“Maybe I am dramatic for going to doctors for a broken acrylic, the nurse put a plaster on it and sent me home [skull emoji],” she wrote.

Following the tweet, Twitter users took to the comments section to express their opinions on the visit, with people from both sides of the debate offering their perspectives.

“And this is why people struggle to get doctor’s appointments when they’re genuinely unwell,” wrote one.

Another added: “Talk about wasting the drs/nhs time. Why you’d even tweet this [emojis] so cringe! Get to the nail salon!! [emoji]”.

But other users quickly defended Indiyah following the backlash and stood up for the Love Island star -who is known for her sensational makeup looks.

“People clearly haven't experienced nearly ripping their nail off when wearing acrylics…painful as. The blood….the skin aghhh,” wrote one Twitter user.

“I knew a girl hospitalised over an acrylic. Anything that can get infected needs seeing to. Sepsis can even come from a broken/ripped acrylic and is a killer. Don’t feel bad,” commented another.

Meanwhile another wrote: “It looked very painful! Hope you’re doing better”.

The news of Indiyah’s trip to the doctors comes after the TV star appeared on the Saving Grace podcast whereshe revealed that Love Island medics rushed into the villa over the summer to treat a case “they’d never had before”.

While in the villa, Indiyah switched up her typical hair removal routine and started shaving instead of getting a wax, something which led to her receiving medical attention.

“I got a shaving rash once and I had to call the medic. It was so itchy. I usually get a sugar wax, couldn't get that out there, so I had to shave every day,” she said.

“One day I got a bit shaving happy – I just shaved everywhere. Even the cheeks.

“And you’re not supposed to shave the cheeks. Shave the cheeks and then within two days, literally it was so f***ing itchy and rashy.

“I called the medic. She was like, ‘We've never had a case like this before, but we’ll help you out’.

“I thought I was going to die. I was like, ‘This really hurts. Like it’s itchy. Please can we sort it out?’ It was awful.”
