Since the death of Lisa Marie Presley on January 12, her mother Priscilla and daughter Riley Keough have reportedly been wrapped in a feud over the late singer’s estate after Elvis’ ex-wife contested the validity of her will. According to reports, Lisa Marie’s seven-year-long custody battle ended with Michael Lockwood, 61, receiving full custody of twins Harper and and Finley, and Priscilla allegedly didn’t raise any objections, to the fury of 33-year-old Riley.

Lisa Marie and Michael Lockwood got married in 2006 and split 10 years later, entering a lengthy divorce process which was only finalised in 2021.

At the same time seven years ago the pair began an arduous custody battle over their twin daughters, 14-year-old Harper and Finley Lockwood.

The custody case has only now been concluded earlier this week, with the girls’ father reportedly receiving full custody de facto.

Tuesday’s hearing, as reported by judicial assistant Gus Morales to the Daily Mail, noted that in Californian law, if a parent dies the other parent retains full custody.

However, this can be disputed if the court finds the remaining parent unfit through family members, such as Priscilla, filing legal documents revealing such.

The publication reports that Priscilla, and no other family members, objected to Michael receiving full custody, but this has reportedly enraged her granddaughter even further.

The outlet alleged that Riley had supported her mother throughout the gruelling custody battle with Michael, while Priscilla sided with the girls’ father.

At the time of her death, Lisa Marie and Michael were sharing custody of their twin daughters.

Riley is claimed to be furious of “losing” her half-sisters to an “outsider”.

This update has reportedly furthered the rift between the granddaughter and grandmother, which originally started just after Lisa Marie’s death when her will and healthy Promenade Trust was revealed.

Michael is also said to be on Priscilla’s side regarding this dispute, becoming more involved in the probate case as he won custody of the twins.

Finley and Harper are listed as beneficiaries of the estate and Michael has reportedly requested to be appointed their guardian ad litem, which would enable him to represent the girls in the probate case.

Priscilla is challenging an amendment in Lisa Marie’s will made in 2016 which removed her and Lisa Marie’s former business manager Barry Siegel as trustees.

The change also replaced the pair with Riley and her late brother Benjamin Keough.

The former wife of Elvis Presley is requesting a judge to determine the validity of this change.

An insider told Entertainment Tonight that as a result of this challenge, Priscilla and Riley are no longer on speaking terms.

Lisa Marie went into cardiac arrest at her home in Los Angeles and was pronounced dead later on January 12, aged 54.

Michael was Lisa Marie’s fourth husband, and longest marriage.

She was first married to Riley’s father, Danny Keough, in 1988 before splitting six years later.

The couple also had a son together, Benjamin, who tragically took his own life in 2020 at the age of 27.

In 1996 the singer married pop sensation Michael Jackson in a short-lived two-year union.

Face/Off star Nicolas Cage became her third husband in 2002, a year after he had split from his first wife Patricia Arquette. The pair then split in 2004.

Express.co.uk has contacted Priscilla Presley and Riley Keough’s representatives for comment.
