Tara Arkle, 56, shared her relief that she is no longer single, after tying the knot with now-husband Nicholas Gilador back in 2016. The author of Radio Honey explained that it was tough on the dating scene and “tried everything” to find Mr Right at the time.
I wasn’t really in the mindset

Speaking on the plight of online dating, Tara explained: “Well thankfully I don’t have to worry about that.
“It took me a long time to get the dating thing sorted out, and like all women I tried everything.
“But I’m very grateful that I am not out there, especially during lockdown, I mean, jeez there’s a conundrum.”
Before meeting Nick, Tara had been single for six years following her divorce from first husband and father of her children, Michael Adams.
She described how a colleague set her up with Nick after thinking they would be a good fit together.
Tara shared: “I had been single for six years, a single mum with two kids, been through a few ups and downs with relationships.
“I was actually working as a domestic abuse caseworker in North Somerset, which was an incredible job that I loved.
“Obviously I had been on my own, raising two kids, so I wasn’t really in that mindset of relationships.
“One day my co-worker said, ‘You have got to meet my friend Nick,’ and I said, ‘Oh yeah sure,’ as you do when you get to that age, and you have been through ups and downs,” she added.
Taking matters into her own hands, Tara’s co-worker hoodwinked her into attending a dinner party which Nick would also be at.
Tara continued: “She kept going on about it, then one day she invited us both to her house, and we didn’t realise we were both going to be there.
“We had a really nice chat, I had terrible hair and I was in a tracksuit!”

After the party, Nick messaged Tara on Facebook, however, instead it went into her message request inbox.
Tara added: “I didn’t realise he messaged me on Facebook, I didn’t see for like a month because it was one of those messages not from your friends.
“Anyway, I finally saw the message and we got talking. After a month of this, he said, ‘Why don’t we have a meal together?’
“So he took me out for a meal and the rest is history,” she finished.
Tara has recently released her debut novel Radio Honey, based on her experience working at an all-female radio back in the ’90s.
The daughter of famed actress Joan Collins, Tara, worked as a radio presenter at Viva 963, where she co-hosted alongside Magenta Devine, Nina Myskow and Lynne Franks.
The author had the opportunity while there to interview personalities such as Dame Vivienne Westwood, Lily Savage and Katie Puckrick.
Radio Honey by Tara Arkle is out now (£13.98, Black Pawn Press).
