Jimmy Patton's heartbroken younger wife Amy has been left reeling at his death at the age of 87.

The Chuckle Brother – sibling to the late Barry Elliot, remaining ChuckleVision star Paul Elliot and Brian Patton – remarried at the age of 85 in April 2017 after meeting Amy over Facebook .

The pair had an 18-month courtship before comedian Jimmy proposed, having asked Amy's dad John Phillips for permission first.

His first wife Valerie, with who he had daughter Debbie Baggot, had died in 2010 and Jimmy admitted he "never thought" he would fall in love again.

But he found it with Amy, now 27, who was a big fan of the ChuckleVision show as a child.

"Amy has been a fan of Chucklevision all of her life and commented on something I posted," Jimmy said before their lavish wedding.

"It just went from there. I never thought I would find this kind of love again."

Describing the proposal in the couple's living room in South Yorkshire, Jimmy said: "It was emotional. Thankfully she said yes.

"We haven't set a date yet but we are very happy."

Amy's dad John, 16 years younger than Jimmy, described the pair at the time as being "really good" together.

Her mum Mary added she thought their wedding would be a "quiet affair".

"The age gap doesn't bother them or us at all. It's love – so it doesn't matter," she said.

"Amy is happy and so are we. We are delighted and very proud."

While Amy's family were full of support for their impending nuptials, Jimmy's daughter Debbie said at the time: "I've got a lot I could say, but I'm afraid it's something between me and my dad."

She added she loved him "no matter what".

Up until his death, devoted Jimmy's Facebook profile picture was of him smiling lovingly at bride Amy as she slipped his wedding ring onto his finger.

The pair tied the knot at the Southport Theatre and Convention Centre – and the octogenarian groom was reportedly still throwing shapes on the dance floor into the early hours.

The happy couple followed up their nuptials with a two-week honeymoon in the sunshine in Gran Canaria.

Sadly, his younger brother Barry was too ill to attend the wedding, as he was already battling the bond cancer that would kill him in August 2018.

Barry kept his illness to himself and continued working until he was too sick.

Speaking after Barry's death, Jimmy told the Sun : "He needed oxygen from a tank and was gulping for air – he was in a very bad way.

"He was ill for years, but kept it hidden.

"We knew about it, but kept it quiet, and all the family and his daughters are really hurting right now."

Neither Amy nor Jimmy's other famous brothers Paul and Brian have broken their silence on his death yet.
