Halle Berry recently cracked a joke at the expense of her distant relative — Sarah Palin.

The Oscar-winner, 53, took the light jab while responding to a Daily Blast Live tweet mentioning their shared lineage.

“This pair shares roots that may seem like they’re from different trees, but @halleberry and former VP candidate @SarahPalinUSA are distant relatives — though the actual connection is unclear,” reads the March 5 tweet. Berry responded Friday night that “She may be on the tree but she ‘AINT invited to the cookout.?”

While Berry has no plans to run into the former governor at a family reunion, the term “invited to the cookout” is also a slang expression used to describe non-Black public figures that the black community generally accept and trust.

The “John Wick: Chapter 3” actress discovered she was related to Palin, 56, in 2012, revealing the news for the first time to Extra.

“You want to know who I’m related to? Sarah Palin!” Berry told Extra’s Jerry Penacoli. When asked how they’re related, she continued, “Some twisted way. Somebody sent me this information that she was my distant [relative].”
