EMILY PRESCOTT: Them’s the breaks! Ex-PM Boris Johnson and Carrie land a luxury new cottage in the Cotswolds on estate owned by a super-rich Tory donor
He’s no longer entitled to stay at No 10 or the PM’s country pile, Chequers, but Boris Johnson has a very comfy roof over his head while he plans his next career move, after joining the Chipping Norton set.
I hear Boris, wife Carrie and their children have moved into a luxury cottage generously offered by owners Lord and Lady Bamford on their Daylesford Estate in the Cotswolds.
Last month Boris – who grumbled ‘Them’s the breaks’ as he made his resignation speech in Downing Street – declared on a Commons register receiving £10,000 worth of accommodation from the JCB boss and his wife.

Now his latest expenses show he’s clocked up another £3,500 worth of accommodation from the couple, suggesting he and Carrie are in no rush to leave.
Besides, they know the estate well – it’s where they held their wedding bash earlier this year.
But their arrival isn’t the only exciting development on the 3,500-acre estate, home to Britain’s poshest farm shop, as Lady Bamford, 76, is preparing to open her new private members’ club.
Describing The Club by Bamford, which is due to welcome its first guests in early 2023, she says: ‘My dream of The Club comes from a long-standing belief in the power of wellness.’
Alongside a swimming pool, gym and a high-octane spin studio, the club will offer restorative treatments such as intravenous drip therapy and cryotherapy.
Socialite Chloe Delevingne is among the ranks of those in the organising committee who Lady Bamford says will have a ‘pivotal role’ in shaping the club.

Members could include many familiar faces from the Chipping Norton set, who include David Cameron, the Beckhams and Jeremy Clarkson.
Lady Bamford has shared her vision behind the club and says: ‘Our ethos for The Club is B.Well, B.Wild and B.You. Ultimately, it’s time for you and how this mantra manifests in your use of The Club is yours to define. Let us help you write your wellness story.’
Could be the perfect place for Boris to restore some wounded pride…
