‘I know what’s about to come: there is a lot of news to be announced and I’m really happy,’ she tells me at The Women in Film & Television Awards at the London Hilton Park Lane.

‘I’m looking forward to the general election happening as soon as possible.

‘Dismantling the Tory Party is my aim for the rest of next year.’
