Coronation Street: Aggie expresses concern for Ronnie’s arrival

ITV viewers have been left baffled after one Coronation Street character hasn’t been seen since June. However, it’s now been revealed that there are no current plans for Aggie Bailey to return.

Played by Lorna Laidlaw, Aggie is the wife of Ed Bailey and was last seen on the cobbles in June. However, the show has since given a sad update on her whereabouts on Wednesday night’s episode.

As Ed came downstairs to discuss his Christmas plans with his family, he spoke to Aggie on the phone and his son Michael was desperate for an update. He asked: “Was that Mum? How was Auntie Marcel?”

Ed then told Michael some heartbreaking news: “Still not good. I don’t think your mum’s going to make it back for Christmas. So I was thinking we ought to keep things a bit low-key this year.”

Actress Lorna Laidlaw joined the ITV soap in June 2019 and has been a pillar of support for her family, especially after her husband gambled away their luxury home. She also embarked on an affair with Tim Metcalfe.

While her absence hasn’t been ruled out as a permanent exit, it is unlikely she will be returning for now. During her last on-screen appearance, Aggie hosted a dinner party at the Metcalfe’s home trying to pass it off as her own.

Her unexplained absence has been mentioned a few times by family members, who have said that she is looking after a relative. Many ITV viewers have taken to social media to question her disappearance and whether or not Aggie will return.

One person posted on X: “@itvcorrie For crying out loud @itv just admit that Aggie Bailey is never coming home! And send the rest of the Baileys to Birmingham to be with her if she’s not coming back! She’s the only decent actor out of the family #Corrie #CoronationStreet.”

A second chimed in: “Where is Aggie in #Corrie? I blame her for the NHS being understaffed as her absence doesn’t make any sense.” A third said: “So much drama is going on at the Bailey residence, yet there is no sign of Aggie. #corrie #coronationstreet.”

A fourth commented: “Where’s Aggie? When’s she coming back? We need her back. One minute, she’s practically running the NHS in Weatherfield, the next she’s the invisible woman! #Corrie #CoronationStreet.”

A fifth quipped: “Hello? Weatherfield Police? Yeah I would like to report a missing person. Her name is Aggie Bailey and she has been gone for months now. I think it’s suspicious that her husband isn’t that bothered so I would investigate him. In fact I would question the whole family” #Corrie.”
