A Place In The Sun presenter Danni Menzies has helped buyers find their dream homes in sun-drenched destinations for an entire six years – but now it has been reported that she has stepped down from the show in a bid to do more filming closer to home. Clutching a bottle of Moet and Chandon champagne with a broad grin on her face in her Instagram Stories yesterday, she teased her almost 93,000 followers with details of an “emotional night” yesterday.

“It’s been a very emotional night – thank you so so much everyone,” she wrote after a long day of filming, tagging @aplaceinthesunofficial.

The glamorous TV host has not confirmed her departure from the Channel 4 series.

Fans will be pleased to know Danni won’t be disappearing from our TV screens any time soon, as she took to Instagram to promote her latest episode of A Place In The Sun.

According to the Scottish Sun, a source claimed the 33-year-old felt the constant travelling involved with her work forced her to turn down other opportunities.

The presenter has not publicly addressed the reports.

Express.co.uk has contacted Danni Menzies and A Place In The Sun representatives for comment.

Taking to the picture-sharing site, Danni didn’t seem at all disappointed to be touching down on her Ryanair flight only to be met with bitterly cold temperatures this morning, boasting on Instagram of that “Friday feeling”.

The savvy Scot has previously spoken of looking into TV roles that match her passion for animals, having revealed her longstanding devotion to all things equestrian.

Recently, while abroad, she was broken-hearted to discover a “half-dead puppy” during filming last summer, which she helped to re-home.

Talking to the Sunday Post at the time, she revealed: “We were driving in the mountains of Spain when I saw this little thing at the side of the road.”

There was a happy ending for the pup when they located an animal charity that helped find a couple to take her on.

The encounter mirrors fellow TV favourite Ralf Little’s experience when he rescued – and ultimately adopted – two dogs he found in the streets of Guadeloupe while filming the drama Death In Paradise.

Yet Danni’s love for animals stretches far back into her childhood.

Her parents own a riding school and more than 20 horses and Danni herself was often to be found on the riding circuit, as a show-jumping and dressage champ in her own right.

“I competed when I was younger when I was at school,” she revealed to the Scottish Sun.

“I was on the team that won the Scottish Equestrian Championships a couple of times so I was really into my show jumping and dressage.

“And I loved working with problem horses that people didn’t know what to do with. I got a lot out of seeing them transform.”

“It’s definitely something I’ll go back to at some point.”

The self-confessed “dog mother” will now have more time to spend with her animals, having already revealed: “I am not 100 per cent on having kids, but I am 100% on having lots of dogs – and probably a rescue donkey as well.

“I’m just a mad animal lover and unfortunately in quite a few European countries they don’t love their dogs, horses or donkeys like we do,” she has explained.

“The dream is to do something on telly that I can bring my love for animals into.

“In the future, I’d love to work on something that has got horses or dogs or pet rescue. I’ve been trying for a while so we’ll see. I’ll keep trying.”

A Place In The Sun airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 3pm.
