UFC legend Georges St-Pierre returned to Instagram this week with a new fitness challenge for his followers to try at home. To pull it off, you’ll only need two chairs, as St-Pierre demonstrates in the brief clip. “Challenge of the week, guys!” he exclaims. “This one is great for core strength and stability.”

Here’s how you do it: Position two chairs side-by-side and stand between them, resting your palms on both seats. Raise your knees until they’re at a 90-degree angle, suspended in mid-air, and hold the position for 20 seconds. After performing the move himself, St-Pierre offers a crucial piece of advice: “Make sure you keep your arms narrow, and your arms straight to offer better support.”

While it may seem like a simple movement, it’s also solid and effective one to keep in your home workout rotation, says certified trainer and Men’s Health fitness director Ebenezer Samuel, CSCS. “Basically, he has you holding a L-sit position here, but with a shorter lever because your legs aren’t straight. This is also an underrated arm, shoulder, and scapular health workout, too, if you do it right,” Samuel says. “Keep pushing your torso up as you do this move, instead of letting your shoulders sag,” he adds. “And turn the pits of your elbows forward as much as you can.”

The video is just the latest in a series of challenges GSP has issued to his followers in recent weeks, which also included a tricky 10-second balance test. It’s just more proof that you don’t need an elaborate home gym to get in a strong workout. With only a couple of chairs—and less than 30 seconds—you can still torch your midsection. And if you’re just feeling warmed up after that, these 20 bodyweight exercises will also help you unlock true strength at home, equipment-free.
