Royal family has ‘no interest’ in talking to Prince Harry at Charles’ coronation

Why Meghan Markle isn’t attending King Charles’ coronation with Harry

An ex-pal of Meghan Markle slammed the royal as “selfish” for bowing out of attending King Charles III’s upcoming coronation.

“I think Meghan is not coming to the coronation because she knows she’s going to get booed but she’s putting her own feelings and worries about being booed before her children,” British television presenter Lizzie Cundy, 54, told The Daily Mirror.

Cundy is particularly incensed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s two children won’t be there for the momentous occasion.

“I think it’s a travesty that Lilibet and Archie are not going to be at their grandfather’s coronation,” she shared.

“What will Harry and Meghan say to them when they’re older? When they say ‘Why weren’t we there at the most historical moment in British history? Why weren’t we on that balcony?’” Cundy added.

“What will Meghan answer? ‘I knew I was going to get booed so I didn’t want to go,’” she opined. “She’s putting herself before anyone and in fact, Harry by boasting about the Taliban has put his own family and the security threat at its highest form.

“Not only the Royal Family but the whole nation.”

Cundy first met Markle in 2013 when she was asked to sit next to the former “Deal or No Deal” briefcase girl at a charity event. Cundy reportedly tried to set up the then-single Markle with footballer Ashley Cole. The two stopped speaking when Markle began dating Prince Harry.

Earlier this week it was confirmed that Prince Harry would be attending his father’s coronation next month but Markle would be staying in California with their two children, Prince Archie — who will be turning 4 on the day of the Coronation — and Princess Lilibet.

“Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the coronation service at Westminster Abbey on May 6,” a palace spokesperson told Page Six.

“The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”

Page Six exclusively reported that Markle felt it would be “inauthentic” if she attended the coronation due to the strained relations between herself and the royal family.

“They had to make a decision that felt genuine and authentic, especially after everything that has been said and all the things that have gone down,” an insider familiar with the family told us. “They care about their family, so Meghan is going to stay [in California] and Harry is going to support his dad.”

Another insider explained, “There was no way that Meghan was going to miss her son’s birthday.”

This will be Harry’s first reunion with members of the royal family since the January release of his blockbuster memoir, “Spare.”

The California-based royal can reportedly expect a frosty reception from his family.

Royal sources reveal that they have “no interest” in talking to Harry “beyond the most basic of greetings,” with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie — with whom he has remained on good terms — being the only “exception.
