REY MYSTERIO shocked the wrestling world after having his masked ripped off by Andrade on Monday Night RAW.

Mr 6-1-9 lost the gauntlet match which would have seen him become the number one contender for the US title when his opponent committed the heinous crime.

Mysterio has been de-masked before but since he switched to WWE from WCW the mask has been sacred to the Luchador.

And to make it worse for the veteran, the incident was broadcast live on RAW.

MASSIVE DISRESPECT

The pair were tipped to fight earlier this year at WrestleMania 35 but it did not come to fruition.

But they could meet again sooner rather than later with many hoping for a rematch at the upcoming Summerslam.

Andrade showed the Lucha Libre disciple massive disrespect with the stunt during the fight but he did not seem fazed.

But wrestling fans everywhere were disgusted by the move and took to social media to make their feelings known.

One posted: "Did Andrade just rip off Rey Mysterio's mask and show his face on TV?! Some things are just scared."

While another added: "Every time I see Rey Mysterio get his mask ripped off, I'm tempted to drive to Conneticut to beat Vince McMahon's a**."

@NoLimitDirty said: "Nah you can't just rip off Mysterio's mask. That's what Andrade gets," and Italian Mike added: "I want Andrade vs Rey Mysterio in a hair vs mask match at Summerslam #RAW."
