Former EastEnders star Sean Maguire looks very different to his soap star days after embarking on a career in Hollywood.

Sean, now 46, starred as Aidan Brosnan on the hit BBC soap and made his debut on the show in 1993.

Prior to his time on EastEnders, he’d starred in shows such as Grange Hill and Growing Pains.

A then-teenage Aidan arrived in Walford to join its football club, and ended up moving in with Arthur and Pauline Fowler.

He later got into a relationship with Mandy Salter (Nicola Stapleton), who saved his life after discovering that he’d tried to take his own life after his footballing career came to an end due to an injury.

While Mandy stopped him, it was her who put him on a downward spiral as Aidan ended up homeless and battling addiction after embarking on a romance with her.

Aidan exited the square a year after his arrival after blaming Walford for his woes.

Five years after leaving the soap, Sean jetted off to Los Angeles to try to break Hollywood. He became an official American citizen in 2020.

Since relocating to the States 20 years ago, he’s made a host of celebrity pals – as well as starring in some huge films and TV shows. Some of his friends include Christina Applegate, Lorraine’s Ross King and the late Bob Saget.

Meanwhile, he’s gone on to star in shows such as The 100, Once Upon A Time, CBS’ S.W.A.T and Action Royale, as well as movies like Meet The Spartans, The Red Dress and a TV-adaption of Prince Charming.

He’s also ditched the 90s curtains, and now has short dusty blonde hair alongside an undeniably chiselled jawline.

Not only did his professional life take off after relocating to LA, so did his personal life after meeting now-wife Tanya there.

Tanya is a police detective, and the pair tied the knot in 2012. Three years later, the happy couple welcomed their first child together, a boy, with their second son arriving in 2017. Their third child, a daughter, was born in September 2021.

Tanya and Sean recently celebrated 10 years of marriage, with the dad-of-three taking to Instagram to pen a tribute to his wife.

Alongside a photo of them with two of their three kids, he wrote: “Celebrating 10 years of marriage today to this wonderful woman and she is truly wonderful. We celebrated by voting…by mail. It was pretty sexy civic duty kinda of stuff but there’s kids in the (old) picture so I won’t say much. But we’re both feeling pretty great now…a little tired.”
