DEAR DEIDRE: MY husband has started making a weird grunting noise.

He doesn’t seem very aware that he is doing it and it definitely does not register with him that it is strange.

Listen to the NEW Dear Deidre podcast

Resident agony aunt Sally Land is taking The Sun’s legendary advice column from the page to podcast.

Each week, Sally will be joined by an expert and some of your favourite celebs to give helpful, entertaining advice to listener problems.

A brand new episode will be available every THURSDAY.

Listen HERE, or wherever you get your podcasts.

He makes the low rumbling sounds at random times and it can be quite startling.

I am 37 and my husband is 39. We have been together for ten years. In the last three weeks he has started doing it during sex and it is putting me off.

The sound reminds me of a gorilla grunt.

We are due to go on holiday soon and I am terrified he is going to spend the entire flight making the noise at random people.

I am cringing at the thought of it. Please help.

DEIDRE SAYS: The late onset of a “tic” disorder such as Tourette’s is rare, as tic disorders are thought to be childhood syndromes.

So this is possibly the reactivation of a disorder from his childhood.
Tourette’s, for example, is one such disorder where people make involuntary sounds and movements.

Please encourage your husband to see his GP for more information and advice.
