The Duchess of Cambridge and Duchess of Sussex continuously stun in lavish gowns. To commemorate her 40th birthday, Kate Middleton dazzled in the red Asymmetric Draped sleeve Anemone print dress from Alexander McQueen, and in November Meghan Markle sparkled in a regal red gown at the Annual Salute To Freedom Gala.

Kate’s Alexander McQueen gown retails at £3,450, but royal fans can still take a leaf out of her fashion book, as the Duchess also loves to sport a pair of inexpensive jeans.

Kate is frequently spotted in navy J Brand jeans and has been pictured in them on over 10 occasions, according to dresslikeaduchess.com.

They stated: “She often pairs the luxe twill pants with striped tops and her favourite Duchess blazer by Smythe.”

In 2013, Kate attended a SportsAid Athlete Workshop looking casual yet elegant in this outfit, pairing the ensemble with navy cork wedges.

The Duchess was pictured getting involved in a game of volleyball, uninhibited by her jeans and heels as she leapt into the air like a true sportswoman.

This is an effortless look any Kate fan can achieve – volleyball optional.

Clearly unable to get enough of J Brand jeans, the Duchess of Cambridge was also pictured in a vibrant coral pair as she partook in a hockey match.

Pre-royal life, Kate Middleton was also spotted in 2011 in distressed, faded Diesel jeans.

Experts at dresslikeaduchess.com stated: “The urbanite was partial to these pants when paired with button down blouses or classic cardigans.”

More recently, she stunned in jeans from And Other Stories to receive her first Covid vaccine last May.

Kate paired the acid blue straight leg jeans with a plain white top from highstreet favourite H&M.

Unsurprisingly, the jeans are low in stock, but there are still some pairs left in a variety of colours, including acid grey, washed grey, acid blue and mid blue, for fans of the Duchess’ laidback style.

At only £65, these are an accessible style choice that can make Kate fans look and feel like royalty, without the royal price tag.

Meghan Markle too enjoys a simple yet stylish pair of jeans.

According to dresslikeaduchess.com, she wore the Nordstorm Paige Black Transcend Verdugo Ultra Skinny Jeans during her “acting days”.

Meghan and Suits fans can rejoice, as these trousers are an extremely simple look to recreate.

Black ripped jeans can be dressed up with black Smoking Slippers from Birdies, or down with Kamik Sienna Duck Boots, for the full Meghan Markle look.

At Wimbledon in 2019, she gave tennis fans a treat with her chic ankle slice denim jeans and white blazer combo as she watched her friend Serena Williams play.

dresslikeaduchess.com stated: “The jeans made in her native California are the perfect wardrobe staple for this international style icon.”

Of course, she accessorised with black sunglasses and a black and white fedora.

Jeans are a staple in every woman’s wardrobe, and royal women clearly make no exception.

The late Princess Diana was often spotted in a pair of jeans.

In fact, they became synonymous with her style; she paired them with polo-neck jumpers and T-shirts, as well as shirts and the iconic baseball cap.

The fashion icon was even seen sporting double denim on a skiing trip to Austria in 1993.

Clearly, denim jeans are a royal fashion statement that has transcended time, and one we can all emulate.
