BAYERN MUNICH striker Robert Lewandowski could be on his way to Manchester City according to his agent Pini Zahavi.

City have been linked with a move for the 33-year-old since he expressed his desire to leave Bayern this summer.

And their pursuit has been given a major boost by his agent Zahavi who told Sport Bild that the Etihad is a 'possible destination' for Lewandowski.

However, Pep Guardiola's side will have to fend off stiff competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea, who are also interested in the Polish hitman.

The European Champions were previously in contact with Zahavi about signing Lewandowski, according to reports.

It's clear to see why Lewandowski's in such high demand after he scored 48 goals in 40 games in all competitions last season.

That incredible return in front of goal saw him awarded with the European Golden Shoe Award, and also propelled him amongst the front-runners to lift this year's Ballon d'Or prize.

Lewandowski's showed no sign of slowing down this season, and has already hit the net 13 times in just ten matches.

If he does decide to join City, they could still get the best out of him for quite some time.

Despite his age, Lewandowski reckons he can still perform at the highest level for at least another four years as he feels better now than he did in his 20's.

He told Bild: “I'm in good shape physically and have the right mentality.

“I can play for many more years, I'm sure at least four more years.

“And then I will see, maybe I can raise the bar even higher.

“This summer I had the best results in my career. If I was 27 a year ago, I am now either 25 or 26. My stats are better than ever."
