Former President Donald Trump hinted that he may run for the White House in 2024, saying his supporters should have “hope.”

Trump was interviewed by Lara Trump, his daughter in law, for her podcast, “The Right View,” where she asked him about his future political plans.  

“You do have hope, that I can tell you,” the former president said in his first on camera interview since leaving the White House in January. “You do have hope. We love our country — this country. We all owe a lot to our country but now we have to help our country.”

He then continued to tout the contrast between his administration and President Biden’s.

“And we were there. We were so far so good. What we did with Iran. What we did with China. We were all set to do some great things, and then you see what’s going on right now,” he told Lara Trump, who’s married to his son Eric.

“The way China treated our representatives last week – in Alaska – with such tremendous disrespect. They never talked to me that way. You look at North Korea, I get along with Kim Jong Un. And for four years we had no problem. Now all of a sudden you see the problem is starting again,” he said. 

Trump also signaled that he may return to the big rallies he held during his time in the White House that attracted thousands of supporters in jam-packed arenas.

“Will we ever be able to attend another Trump rally?” Lara Trump asked.

“Oh yeah, sure, I think so,” he said. “In fact, we’re thinking about doing one relatively soon just to let everybody know that there’s hope in the future.”

He and his daughter-in-law also talked about cancel culture, the role of the media and his successor’s first news conference – the first in his then 65 days in office –  during the roughly 18 minute interview.

“Well I think the press conference is probably the least of it,” Trump said. “People saw a lot of things happening long-prior to the press conference – and even the trip up the stairs – up and down, three times – there are a lot of things going on, so we’ll see what happens.”

But he then added his best wishes for the president.

“I hope he’s in good shape. I hope he’s OK for the sake of the country,” Trump said.

He also bemoaned the fact that the media is no longer able to operate freely in the US and is “dishonest.”

“I remember when Gerald Ford fell down the stairs. That was such a big deal. … Well actually, it helped ruin his presidency, you want to really know the truth. Every time you see him they show him now falling down the stairs,” Trump said.

“And with Biden, they don’t want to show it. It is a dishonest media that we have,” he added.

Lara Trump then asked about social media, namely Twitter, censoring The Post’s expose about Hunter Biden’s financial dealings with Ukraine and China. 

“When they didn’t show Hunter Biden – all of the things that were happening with Hunter – and you don’t want to do that you don’t want to get somebody in trouble. He has some difficulties. But when they didn’t show any of that during the campaign. They just cut it out like canceled, I guess you’d call it canceled culture right,” Trump said. 

He said that marked the beginning of the media restricting the public’s right to see both sides and then make a decision. 

“But they didn’t bring Hunter up. It was just really cancelled. And later on polls came out that showed it would have made a 10 point difference – a 10 point difference – that’s a lot of difference. To me that’s where it actually began this new phase, the new phase is, you have something, and they won’t put it out,” Trump said.
