LOVE Island’s fifth series is kicking off in just FIVE days and fans can’t contain their excitement with the return of ITV2’s hottest show.

Caroline Flack is returning as the host, but are there any changes being made to the format this year and what else can we expect from this season? Let’s find out…

When is Love Island back on TV?

Love Island will return next Monday (June 3, 2019) on ITV2, which obviously means all your summer plans are officially cancelled.

The show has gained an immense amount of popularity ever since its reboot back in 2015.

In fact, ratings have been so strong for ITV2 that network executives have announced that the show will be running for at least four more years.

In other words, you’ll continue to stay locked indoors each summer until 2023.

Where is the new season being filmed?

Love Island is heading back to the sunny Spanish island of Mallorca.

Basically, it’s the same villa that the show has used since making its return to our television screens four years ago.

Similar to Big Brother, the location usually doesn’t change but slight changes and adjustments are made to freshen up the interior.

Some of the features that we’re known to see in each series include a large swimming pool, a communal bedroom, outdoor kitchen, a gym, the hideaway spot and the beach hut.

Are there any major changes to the villa being made?

Not necessarily.

The Sun exclusively revealed that everything concerning the interior more or less looks the same, aside from a possible renovation to liven things up for the new series.

It’s the outdoor area, however, that’s receiving quite the overhaul.

A building crew was spotted by planks of wood, scaffolding and various construction items as they carried out work in the Spanish heat.

The seating outside and day beds were set up around the pool area as well as sun-loungers and an al-fresco bar for late-night drinks.
